A 60s version of Miles' classic Dig album – repackaged as "Diggin" to make it fit with other sides from those years, like Cookin, Relaxin, etc. The album's about as classic as you can get from Miles' early years – and a startlingly great record that features Sonny Rollins on tenor, plus alto work by Jackie McLean, and rhythm by the trio of Walter Bishop, Tommy Potter, and Art Blakey. The sextet is in amazing form, and you can really hear Miles forging his own sound on the record – breaking past the bop formulism of earlier recordings, which were often dominated by the other players in the group. Includes the classic "Dig", a great reading of "It's Only A Paper Moon", and the tracks "Denial" and "Out Of The Blue".
