English singer-songwriter Laura Marling was acclaimed in Britain while she was still a teenager. Two of her previous albums, Alas I Cannot Swim from 2008 and I Speak Because I Can from 2010, were nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. In 2011 she won the BRIT Award for best female solo artist and the Shockwaves NME Award, given by the music magazine NME, for best solo artist. (One of the other nominees was Kanye West.) Ribbon Music is pleased to announce deluxe re-issues of Alas I Cannot Swim and I Speak Because I Can, the former featuring contributions by Charlie Fink and Tom Hobden (Noah and The Whale) and Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons).
