Bjork, the Icelandic singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and occasional actress, has had 30 singles reach the Top 40 on pop charts around the world, with 22 Top 40 hits in the U.K. Prior to the release of Biophilia in 2011, media outlets reported that Björk's first six studio albums had sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. This limited edtion, 180 gram re-issue is on coloured vinyl from Bjork's own Label, Ten Little Indians.
"How does one describe this album? It's something of a sonic assault. Bjork mixes a lot of electronic effects with classical orchestration. My overall feeling is that this album leans most towards a thrilling experience. It will take me awhile to get the meanings of the songs, but the sonic landscape seems comparable to the likes of "Dark Side of the Moon", albeit the mood is quite different. There seems to be an emphasis on pulsing percussion in many of the songs that makes everything seem intense. I think this is my new favorite Bjork album."
